Celiac disease is a chronic digestive and immune disorder that damages the small intestine. The disease is triggered by eating foods containing gluten. The disease can cause long-lasting digestive problems and keep your body from getting all the nutrients it needs.

I was asked to create a flag for Celiac Disease, so I designed this flag using several of the grains that a Celiac CAN digest, as a celebration of survival, rather than focusing on the negative.

The background is the green of the Celiac Awareness ribbon. The grains are flax, amaranth, and millet, in a bouquet wrapped with green ribbons.
